Hello… we are Younison

Younison is a platform for everyone in the music industry. It is a place to share professional experience, organize meetings, rehearsals and gigs. It is also a tool to link friends and colleagues.

Younison is a ‘pressure platform’ designed to influence European policy makers and help us, artists and content creators, take control of our destinies. Too often, those who profit from our creativity ignore our needs and yet claim to speak on our behalf. Younison is here to change this trend and to give artists a voice they haven't had, until now..

By collecting your visions and votes, we aim to persuade policy makers to do the right thing for our business. As part of our commitment to change the music industry, we will report on the most urgent political subjects and expose those who profit from us, without shame. By polling your views, the views of real artists and creators, we will open the debate and call for political action. Younison is what you make of it, and it is free!

Join Younison now and trigger the Digital Music Revolution!

BSA Supports Younison

At the moment, Younison is supported by the Business Software Alliance

BSA supports Younison as it gives authors and content creators a voice to express their views on the consequence of the unfettered expansion of copyright levies in Europe and its negative effects on music creation, consumer purchasing power, and ICT innovation.

Everybody loses from levies

  • Artists lose 25 cts in reduced sales of digital music for each Euro levy charged on digital equipment and media products as higher prices depress demand for the devices on which digital music is played. Also, reduced use of DRM has further weakened the position of content creators who cannot rely on DRM technologies to account for the actual use of their work and obtain proper remuneration. Join Younison!

  • Consumers are priced out as the cost of digital media and equipment increases. Consumers pay multiple levies: on CD recorders, portable digital music players, blank media and even when they download legal music online.

  • ICT manufacturers lose revenue from reduced demand for higher-priced digital devices and lost market share to grey importers, as well as the ability to remain competitive by investing more in innovation and product development. Join Younison!
